Descrizione: PLATBIOMED’s objective is to resolve the interoperability issues between the different sectors of health by designing a platform for benchmarking the tools and standards available to professionals across the silos that interpret distinct levels of data (from OMIC level data to tissue organ data to individual personalised data and finally to the public health data). The ultimate objective of this platform is to break silos that remain barriers to the implementation of new health policies. The platform will benchmark tools available in 2 chronic conditions that are increasingly burdensome to European health: - Neurological diseases PLATBIOMED is a platform that will provide benchmarked data to the following end-users: investigative clinical researchers, secondary healthcare physicians, primary family doctors and public health epidemiologists. Professionals working or involved in the field will be able to access in a secure and reliable manner the data compiled in different institutions allowing them to make their own available and processing the information using knowledge extraction techniques based on semantics.
- Endovascular diseases
Both cases have in common the necessity of using different kinds of tools that rely on data from neurological or cardiovascular studies to genetic or population level, nutritional and sociological studies. Also these pathologies are chronic diseases and require to be approached from earlier phases since diagnosis and treatment capabilities cannot always stop the disease effectively at the phase it is currently diagnosed.
